[Case Report] Altered pain perception in schizophrenia
In June, 2009, a 51-year-old woman presented with a 4-day history of abdominal swelling and fever, and a 2-week history of loss of appetite. There was no history of abdominal pain or nausea. She was febrile (38·4°C) and her abdomen was swollen but soft without spontaneous pain or tenderness. She had a history of schizophrenia since the age of 40 years which was well controlled with perospirone 12 mg/day and quetiapine 150 mg/day.
